ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, the applicant must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
- Currently enrolled as a high school senior who intends to enroll in an accredited post-secondary college or university located within the United States within a year of graduating high school, OR currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary college or university located within the United States, with a least 1 full year of educational requirements remaining
- Self-identify as African-American or Black.
- Have a current GPA of 2.8 or higher.
APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Submission requirements. In addition to the eligibility requirements, the applicant must submit a completed application. Applications that are incomplete will not be considered. A completed application will include:
- 1-page Written Essay with photo verification
- OR
- A minimum of a 2-minute video.
- Letter of reference from one (1) community or volunteer organizations where you serve
- Copy of current high school or college transcript
